Where is Alta Utah? The resort is about 45 minutes drive from the Salt Lake City international airport, and is located next to its famous neighbour, the Snowbird ski resort. Alta Lodging Snowpine Lodge is the finest Alta Ski Resort hotel, with its deluxe accommodations, lovely restaurant and bar, day spa, lavish hot tubs and a swimming pool. Alternatively you can stay off mountain in one of the SLC suburbs at the mouth of the canyon such as Cottonwood Heights or Midvale or in a downtown Salt Lake City hotel, but there is always the risk that the road may close for avalanche control, so you might want to stay on the hill to get the most of the powder days.
